New Pastors Blog
Good morning, Trinity
With the approaching date of my return home (June 16), I want to be sure to use my time well.
From everything I can see, the church is on a good course—
-the worship is consistent. Cerrie does a really good job of planning, leading, and sharing the load. We plan to have one more session to talk about worship essentials on Tuesday evening, June 10
-the children, youth, and young adult ministries are building. Our last young adult gathering numbered close to twenty. I hope to be with them for a Q&A time June 8
-the building and grounds team had a significant turnout last Saturday. Thanks to all who helped.
-the board is becoming more and more solid. Hopefully, with the confirmation of three elders on June 8, the board will be at five, and for the first time in a long time, at the Constitutional minimum. This is terrific. They are great to work with and are dedicated to serving your needs.
-the office has been totally revamped. Carol has brought order and stability, which is so critical—and so helpful to a pastor.
-the PSC is giving great attention to the pastoral search process—and from everything I sense, are making amazing progress.
There’s so much to be done still. The church needs to take significant steps in growing its small group and educational ministries. On this note, I hope you can join us Thursday evening, May 29, as we look at what makes for successful small groups. And certainly, we need to keep working at being more missional and strategic. God has a word on this topic, one we will look at this Sunday from John 15.
