Like two runners in the same race, one passing the baton off to the next, so I passed the baton off to Dan in December, and now he is passing it back off to me. Hopefully this does not mean we are running in circles!
We are on a mission, with all of you, to see God use Trinity to reach the world in which he has placed us. It is a privilege to be back, and I am excited to be with all of you again. It is evident to all of us that God used Dan to bring needed encouragement and pastoral direction to Trinity. I want to continue this in a seamless way. My wife, Heather, as well as my kids, have again given their blessing, and I have a core group of men back in the States who have committed to praying for me and the church every day.
We hold to these words from Evelyn Underhill: “The church will win the world for Christ when—and only when—she works through living spirits steeped in prayer.” So, let’s pray together for God to do what he intends to do in these coming months.
Pray for—
-God to speak to us through the Gospel of John. We will look at eleven conversations that have the power to change our lives
-God to guide us as we carry out the pastoral search process
-God to continue to heal and transform us into a healthy community
-God to use our leaders to guide the church
-God to work through Trinity to reach the culture around us
Finally:
– One of my goals is to help develop small groups. This begins with developing leaders. If you are interested in leadership training, contact Carol at the office.
– Holy Week is coming. Invite people to our Good Friday and Easter Services.
– If you are seeking to be baptised on Easter, let the church office know by 9 April.
– If you wish to seek pastoral counsel, I am here various days of the week. Call the church office for the schedule.
