Whenever I meet new people at church I love to ask, “Can you tell me the story of how you decided to follow Jesus?” It never gets old. Every story is a reminder of who God is and what God does. He takes what was broken and makes it new. He restores. Every life becomes a trophy that testifies to the goodness and power of God. One story can change the course of numerous lives. You may not think that your story is worth telling but I challenge you on that notion. I’ve never heard a bad story. It’s a miracle when any person chooses to follow Jesus. Those miracles speak loudly. It’s not just stories about getting saved that have this power. Any story about the supernatural intervention of a living God have the power to move people towards a greater faith. Psalm 107:2 says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story.” Revelation 12:11 says, “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” Are you telling stories of what God has done in your life? When people get together they tell stories. You already tell stories every day. Why not tell the stories of what God is doing in your life and in the lives of those around you? Look for opportunities to tell God stories this week. You’d be surprised how many times this is a natural part of conversation. Whether the person you are speaking with is a Christian or not, a good story is worth telling. If you pay attention you will find that there are “God appointments” throughout your day every day. Let’s be people who tell of the deeds of our Living God and bring glory to His name.
“Trinity International Church is a safe, welcoming, community of Christ-followers who uphold a high view of Scripture, celebrate unity in diversity and participate fully in the abiding Christian life as described in the Bible. We are united by the principle that in the essentials there should be unity, in all else there should be charity.”
