In 2026 Trinity International Church’s theme is, “Together, On Mission.” I was reminded on Sunday that this is more than a catch phrase. Our theme describes a very important aspect of being a Christ-follower. “Together” comes from the Greek word, “koinonia,” which means “fitly-joined.” It invokes a picture of many stones fitted together to form a wall. We are many, but we are one and we are strong together. What can be accomplished together is much greater than the sum of our parts. It invokes the need for unity and communication, for fellowship and community. It reminds us that we need to be in church, in-person. We need to be in a small group or ministry group. We need to know each other’s names and share our stories. We need to care for each other and choose to lose so that others can win. This has been our story in 2026. We are a church that is “Together.” If we don’t move together we cannot accomplish the “Mission” that Jesus has called His Church to pursue.
As we discovered in the passage from Mark 6:30-44, God has called His People to do the things He did. He demonstrates the Mission, commissions us to go and guides us as we do. We learn on the job. God corrects, instructs, enables and grows us so that we can demonstrate the way and help others learn. This principle is summed up well in 2 Timothy 2:2, ““And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” Our Mission is to learn, to grow and to reproduce. It’s not an event but a movement. We are, “Together, On Mission.”
So what do you need to do to be a part of the wonderful things God is doing at Trinity International Church? Like Jesus said in Mark 6:38, “What do you have?” Each of us has a little bit to contribute. Are you giving what you have? Your gifts, your time, your talents, your experience, your money… it’s all part of being on mission together. You don’t need to do great things. Only God is great. Just do small things in obedience and God will multiply it.
“Trinity International Church is a safe, welcoming, community of Christ-followers who uphold a high view of Scripture, celebrate unity in diversity and participate fully in the abiding Christian life as described in the Bible. We are united by the principle that in the essentials there should be unity, in all else there should be charity.”
