Sermon November 16th – 1 Corinthians 3:1-23
“This week our Sermon was from 1 Corinthians 3:1-23.
God’s desire for His children is that they grow up into maturity. In this Chapter we discovered that Maturity is Not a Mystery. It is a Process. Just as babies grow from infants to adults and seeds grow from one kernel to a towering tree and buildings start with a foundation and layer by layer take shape until they are complete, you and I start out as spiritual babies and can grow into mature adults in the faith. The Church in Corinth was not growing. They were defeated. God’s desire is for His People to be powerful, dangerous, possessing the spiritual dynamite of both knowing and doing His Will. How do babies grow and thrive? How do plants grow and thrive? How is a building built? They each START SMALL AND SIMPLE. WHEN GIVEN THE RIGHT INPUTS AT THE RIGHT TIME, THE PROCESS CONTINUES FROM SMALL AND SIMPLE TO LARGER AND MORE COMPLEX.
Discussion Questions
1. What inputs have been most effective for helping you grow in your faith? How are these similar to planting and watering and caring for a plant so that it might grow?
2. How have you changed over this past year? What has God been exposing in you that you can recognize is His invitation to change?
