Proverbs 16:9 says, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” What plans does God have for your life that you don’t know about?
Because you have a sinful heart, you want to be in control of your own life. You are attracted to the idea of being right, being in charge and following your passions. In short, you love to be independent but God created you to be dependent on Him.
Only God is infinite and self-sufficient. You are not God. You are finite and need His life, love and direction every day. Have you been trying to live on your own without checking-in with God? God speaks through the BIBLE, through PEOPLE, through the work of the HOLY SPIRIT, and through CIRCUMSTANCES.
He made you to listen, to obey and share in His glory as obedient children. Are you listening? He’s speaking.
