Sermon March 15th
“This week our Sermon was from Colossians 1:15-20
IThe supreme Christ holds all things together — therefore He must hold first place in our lives.
The reason we are able to get through each day is because Jesus Christ holds all things together. Paul teaches us that the supreme Jesus Christ is able to hold all things together because He is God Himself, Has authority over all creation, He is the creator of all creation, and is the sustainer of the universe!
Consequently, Christ alone holds our destiny, our future, and every moment of our lives in His Hands! He is the glue that holds everything together. Hebrews 1:3 declares that “Jesus Christ upholds the universe by the word of His power.” The same Christ who holds the universe together holds our lives together.
Discussion Questions
- Is Christ reigning in your life, or are you trying to occupy His throne? The throne of your life cannot hold two rulers — either Christ rules your life, or you are attempting to rule in His place.
- Are there areas in your life that feel like they are falling apart or parts that are not working as should? Life only finds harmony when the Creator is at the center — remove Christ, and everything falls apart.
- Is Jesus holding first place in your life? Unless the supreme Christ is first in all things — He is not first all.
