On Monday morning I will make my way back to California after three incredible months together with my Trinity Church Family. God provided. We are His witnesses. Thank you, Trinity Church, for welcoming me with open arms, for trusting me to lead you and partnering with me to rebuild the Church we love. For more than two decades I have told the story countless times about how Nicole and I once lived in Holland and it was the best four years of our lives. Now I have a new story to tell about my return to Holland where I experienced three of the best months of my life. There is something special, anointed and rare about Trinity that goes beyond words. Although I cannot understand it fully, I celebrate it wholly. God is good and He loves Trinity Church.
I leave with full confidence that the best is yet to come. I can point to at least three reasons for my confidence. 1) The way God provided for our youth and young adults speaks to a bright future. Our youth leadership team is fantastic and our young adults are in good hands. 2) We have great leadership. Character is King and our elders, deacons and staff are people of great character and faith. When the leadership is healthy, the church stays healthy. 3) God did miracles to bring us to this place. There are more than I can recount and even more than I know about, but the clear fact is that Pastor John and I should not have been able to come, but God brought us anyway. If God is for us, who can be against us? I don’t know the future, but I know the past and I’m living in the present. God is going to make a way tomorrow not just today. His work is not finished. We can trust Him and that is our great hope. The best is yet to come.
“Trinity International Church is a safe, welcoming, community of Christ-followers who uphold a high view of Scripture, celebrate unity in diversity and participate fully in the abiding life as described in the Bible. We are united by the principle that in the essentials there should be unity, in all else there should be charity.”
