If you’ve been coming to church at Trinity for the past year you have witnessed something beautiful! God is faithful. He is generous. His timing is perfect. When I arrived in January of 2025 our beloved Trinity International Church was struggling through a church split. Many people were hurting and trust was at an all-time low. Joy was hard to find and hope was even more elusive. The next 90 days changed everything. After 37 years in pastoral ministry I experienced the most anointed season of my life. God’s favor was on us. Hope, joy, trust and transparency followed honest communication, humility and the hard work of so many of our people. I will forever be grateful to God for doing such a mighty work and allowing me to witness it. These last five months since my return have been nearly as good. God continues to bless the ministry He called us to. Sunday Services are full, excellent leaders are stepping up, fifteen small groups are meeting each week, our children, youth and young adults ministries are thriving. The Building and Grounds Team keeps knocking out projects during their monthly work days. A mission trip is in the works. The care and counseling ministry is seeing God care for the brokenhearted. We are planning our first mission trip in several years. The Elders, Deacons and Coordinators are working so well together we can’t wait to meet again. We have 45 people on the worship team and our tech team is improving things each week as well. In addition, we have started new ministries for men, for women and for adult education. It’s truly a wonderful time to be at Trinity International Church. There’s just one problem: Our financial giving is not keeping up with our needs. After a strong finish in 2025 we have dipped into the red in both January and February. Despite our conservative spending and our healthy reserve we must acknowledge that unless our people start giving more we will not be able to sustain this beautiful work. Our goal for 2026 is, “Together, On Mission.” This means we need everyone to put their bit into the whole. Are you giving regularly to support ministry at Trinity? I would like to challenge you to set-up a monthly transfer. You can find all of the details at the end of this Newsletter. It took me less than five minutes to set-up my own monthly transfer. The New Testament establishes a principle that giving should be in proportion to what you make and it should be a sacrifice. It also says you should not give under compulsion but joyfully. Although the ten percent “tithe” is not required in the New Testament it remains a good standard for understanding what “proportionate” and “sacrificial” giving might be for each of us. If you consider Trinity International Church your home church and you are not currently donating towards the mission and vision of our church I would like to challenge you to join those of us who are. We cannot do this without you.
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Malachi 3:10
“Trinity International Church is a safe, welcoming, community of Christ-followers who uphold a high view of Scripture, celebrate unity in diversity and participate fully in the abiding Christian life as described in the Bible. We are united by the principle that in the essentials there should be unity, in all else there should be charity.”
